Volution backs Archax

Welcoming the UK's first FCA-regulated digital asset exchange and custodian to the portfolio

Volution has invested in Archax​​​, advancing regulated infrastructure for institutional digital assets.

Established in 2018, Archax holds a rare licence stack, which includes exchange, brokerage, custody and tokenisation permissions. The company offers a single regulated counterparty for institutions to trade, settle and hold digital assets without stepping beyond the regulatory perimeter. 

For banks embedding digital asset infrastructure into their corporate platforms, Archax becomes a crucial layer in the technology stack, providing a single integration point, 24/7 settlement, atomic finality and true collateral mobility across assets. The efficiency gains in terms of speed, cost and operational overhead for Archax’s clients are significant.

Archax provides regulated infrastructure across three markets: banking products serving corporate and institutional clients, market infrastructure for exchange groups and its own trading and secondary market platform.

The tokenisation of capital markets is accelerating, with multiple institutional use cases moving from pilot to live deployment, from treasury, primary issuance and FX, to derivatives, trading and collateral. It is the regulated, institutional-grade platforms that will dominate as incumbents begin to deploy at scale.

Volution joins existing investors Aberdeen, Hedera and Stellar in backing Archax’s unique license stack and positioning.
