Volution has announced that Nick Hoar has joined the firm as Senior Partner.

Nick will play a pivotal role in strengthening Volution’s global institutional client relationships, enhancing internal governance and establishing a presence in Singapore as part of Volution’s expansion and commitment to the APAC region.

Nick's arrival follows the strong performance of Volution’s Fund I, a tech focused VC fund, which has produced several exits to date and is showing significant portfolio revenue growth.  Volution is approaching the first close of Fund II, which will back high-growth businesses tackling the productivity challenge within capital markets and enterprise.

With more than three decades of asset management and fund experience at major global firms, including Fidelity, JP Morgan, and Lehman Brothers, Nick specialises in driving growth in new markets, launching innovative fund products and spearheading governance and institutional relationships.

Having spent more than a decade based in Hong Kong driving Neuberger Berman’s APAC expansion, Nick’s expertise and leadership will be key to shaping Volution’s global but specifically APAC strategy and helping the firm’s portfolio companies ‘land and expand’ in the region.

James Codling, Volution’s Managing Partner, said: “Nick joins us at a pivotal moment - his proven track record of building successful teams and businesses makes him an invaluable addition as the firm expands. Nick’s expertise and strategic vision are perfectly aligned with Volution’s mission to build world-class, venture-backed businesses – I’m really looking forward to working together.”

Nick Hoar comments: “Volution is entering a crucial phase, supporting businesses in industries critical to driving economic productivity and growth in the next decade and beyond. I am absolutely committed to Volution’s vision of long-term success for its portfolio companies, working alongside institutional investors to identify and support founders who have what it takes to successfully make it to series B and beyond.”

Volution has a portfolio of some of the UK’s most disruptive high-growth tech companies, backing ambitious fintech and SaaS businesses including Flagstone, Cognism and Zopa.
