Born into an entrepreneurial family with diversified interests in housebuilding and the hospitality sector, my early career began within our family business, where I held multiple roles in hotels, pubs and restaurants. This foundational experience taught me the importance of nurturing a business over the long term: an ethos that has guided my approach throughout my career, and one that aligns closely with Volution.
After our family business was sold, I transitioned into financial services, joining the graduate training program at Fidelity Investments. This marked the beginning of what would be a 30-year tenure in global asset management, during which I worked for some of the biggest names in the industry. I consistently found myself in roles where innovation was essential, whether entering a new region, for example Asia, or introducing novel products or asset classes for both institutional and retail investors. Here, I carved my niche as a builder and operator.
Over the years, I have recruited hundreds of asset management professionals across the globe, building large teams and spearheading new initiatives. However, nothing thrills me more than the opportunity to start a business from scratch and collaborate closely with teams in their formative stages.
I’m excited about the phase Volution is entering now. We are at a pivotal point where our investments will likely shape the industries critical to our future world over the next fifty years. Being a part of an ecosystem that nurtures these companies from the ground up is profoundly rewarding.
Volution exemplifies dedication, focus and transparency. Our team is committed to providing robust support to founders of companies we invest in, delivering appropriate risk-adjusted returns for our investors, and making a lasting impact beyond our investments. As an experienced mentor and builder of buy-side asset management teams, I am committed to driving Volution’s strategic vision towards long-term success.
